Edwin Clark claims Reuben Abati sabotaged Jonathan

Notable Ijaw leader Chief Edwin Clark has accused former Spokesperson to former President Jonathan, Reuben Abati, of sabotaging his efforts while he was in office. Clarke said this in response to Abati's article in which he accused Clark of not recognizing Jonathan as a "son" anymore because he was out of office. In an email sent to Premiumtimes, Clarke said 
"My advice that a publicity committee made up of eminent journalists be put in place in Aso Rock and that media proprietors and senior journalists should be invited to Aso Rock were jettisoned by Abati because of what I suppose is his covetousness, particularly when many journalists and media houses always complained to me that he was not carrying them along.

Mikel Obi, Obafemi Martins and 21 others make Super Eagles list for World Cup qualifiers next month

Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has invited 23 players to the national team ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Swaziland next month. He has handed a recall to Seattle Sounders frontman Obafemi Martins after more than two years absence, with his last appearance in a Super Eagles shirt coming against Kenya in a World Cup qualifier in March 2013.

The Super Eagles will tackle Swaziland in the first leg on November 13, while  the return leg is at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium in Port Harcourt four days later.

Emenike Says Decision to Quit Super Eagles Has Nothing to do with Oliseh

Emmanuel Emenike‘s decision to quit the Super Eagles team shortly after Vincent Enyeama‘s dramatic exit definitely raised eyebrows, especially with rumours circulating about tension between Sunday Oliseh and Enyeama.
However, Emenike has set the record straight, clarifying that there is no beef between he and Oliseh.

Female NTA Newscaster Disarms Robber who Tried to Rob Her

Strong lady! A suspected armed robber is now in police net in Benin, Edo State, after the lady he attempted to rob disarmed him. The victim, a female newscaster with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), was said to have given the suspect, identified as Stanley, the fight of his life when he tried to rob her.

The strong lady succeeded in collecting the robber’s pistol from him.
The suspect was handed over to policemen from Oba Police Station, Benin. During interrogation, Stanley mentioned names of his gang members. The police went after the gang and arrested five members. The leader of the gang is, however, still at large. The newscaster, who wished to remain anonymous, said she went to Benin from Lagos, for a wedding when the incident occurred.

The Ondo state governor, Olusegun Mimiko has described as embarrassing, the Saturday October 24th judgement of the Rivers state election tribunal which nullified the election of Nyesom Wike as governor of the state. Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz won the Best African/Indian Act award at the 2015 MTV EMA which took place in Milan last night. He beat African musicians including Nigeria’s Davido and Yemi Alade, SA’s AKA and Ivorian DJ Arafat as well as leading Indian musicians to win the MTV prize.

Amaechi Hits Hard On Wike, Exposes His Financial Deals

Minister-designate, Rotimi Amaechi, has accused the embattled Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, of diverting a N45bn loan his administration took. He revealed this on Sunday at a thanksgiving service organised to mark the October 25 Supreme Court rulung that made him governor in 2007.
He said, “I borrowed N300bn and I paid N245bn back and I left about N15bn. But now, they are not borrowing to pay contractors. Rather they are borrowing for themselves. 
“Borrow to pay contractors not for your purse. They have borrowed N45billion and nobody is seeing it. If you put N45bn in the state economy, the state will be bouncing. They will employ more workers, pay them and you will see things working.”
