Airport Cleaner nabbed with N54 Billion at MMIA

Security officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria prevented an unnamed suspect from trafficking 271.14 Million Dollars (N54.35 Billion) through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) on Thursday.

The FAAN Deputy General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mr. Onyekwere Nnaekpe, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Lagos. According to it, some of the foreign currency was found on the suspect while the remaining amount was found in the sanitary bucket which he was trying to pass through screening.

The statement said that the cleaner was trying to convey the foreign currency to an accomplice at the sterile area of the terminal.

It said that the suspect was immediately handed over to the appropriate security agencies at the airport for further investigation.

Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has accused a popular Lagos flamboyant pastor, of being behind the crisis in his home and trying to destroy his marriage. He said the pastor has been frustrating his efforts to reconcile with his wife, Susanne, who had instituted a divorce suit against him in court.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday made public details of their assets, which had been declared to the Code of Conduct Bureau.

According a statement by the President’s Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President has about N30m in his only bank account with the Union Bank Plc, while the Vice President has a balance of N94m, $900,000 and 19,000 pounds in his bank accounts.

Shehu’s statement said the President had shares in Berger Paints, Skye Bank and Union Bank and a total of seven houses, comprising two mud and a standard house in Daura, his hometown; two homes in Kaduna, one in Kano and one in Abuja.

Details of President Muhammadu Buhari's assets have been made public after he submitted documentation to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

In a statement issued on Thursday, spokesman Garba Shehu noted that the president's assets, valued at less than N30million at the time of his inauguration on May 29, reflected his "austere and Spartan lifestyle," especially as a former Head of State.

His money was held in a single bank account and he had no company or foreign accounts...

"In addition to the homes in Daura, he has farms, an orchard and a ranch. The total number of his holdings in the farm include 270 heads of cattle, 25 sheep, five horses, a variety of birds and a number of economic trees," the statement said

Nigeria’s business magnate and one of the richest men in Africa, Chief Antonio Oladeinde Fernandez, died on Tuesday, September 1, in Brussels, Belgium, at the age of 79.

An evangelical pastor from Brazil, Sobrino Valdeci Picanto, persuaded his followers that he practiced oral s*x because it was the way he preached the word, saying that his ‘milk’ was sacred.

Valdecir came to abuse some elderly, and defends himself by saying that ‘he had an encounter with Jesus in a brothel and gave him the mission of spreading the sacred semen throughout the state, beginning with the faithful Apore Assembly, of which he is responsible’.

The man is now cooling off in a police cell.
